SUMMER SEASON 2014

Summer 2014 in north-central Italy has been generally fresh, with a limited number of sunny days due to the reduced frequency of occurrence of high pressure ridges, and tem-perature lower than the 1961-’90 climatological values for two thirds of the seasons.
The precipitation exceeded, often abundantly, the expected climatological values.

CLIMATE IN NORTH-CENTRAL ITALY DURING WINTER 2015-2016

In North Central Italy, winter 2015-’16 was characterised by intense climate anomalies, with very mild temperatures, well above average, but average cumulated precipitation which resulted from an extremely dry start of season and a rainy February.
Precipitations were almost absent starting from the end of October up to the end of January, and these conditions caused some issues among the winter tourism stakeholders and raised the level of attention of water management agencies both at regional and at Po basin level…
